My Other Creations: Wire and Paper Chairs

http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/
This week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge theme is highly intriguing!  It's to leap into the unknown.  I decided to make something I've never made before, so behold my first-ever paper and wire chairs!

I started out with patterned paper that I cut into cushion-shapes, sewed together and stuffed with batting.  WAY easier than real sewing in my opinion.  I don't think my poor sewing machine would know how to react if I was sewing something for real and using (heaven forbid) a pattern, pins and straight lines!

I then smudged on some Distress Ink and stamped the paper with some words from Avery Elle's "Write It" stamp set.  I love the graphic swirls and curls of this set.

After I spiffed up my cushions, I curled some wire into leg shapes and glue-gunned the heck out of them to the backs of the cushions.  Believe you me when I tell you the backs of these chairs is NOT PRETTY!  Just some crafting honesty for you.

I decided to add a human touch to my chairs and loved these two sassy ladies from Tim Holtz's Photobooth cards.  I included sentiments that I cut out of a piece of paper from Photoplay's Like a Girl collection.  I threw on a swirl cut with My Favorite Things' Scribble die and called it a day!

Here are the supplies I used for my wonky little chairs that you can find at Simon Says Stamp:

My Cards and Tags: Inspired by a Song

http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/
Music is a constant part of my life, so I was ecstatic about this week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge theme, which is "Inspired by a Song."  I made some cards using lyrics from some of my favorite singers, The Avett Brothers and Ben Harper.

I found these fun paper kid images in my stash which I decided to use for my characters. I made the background of this card with C'est La Vie paper that I cut out with a project Life 4"x6" die.  I added some oomph with a Darkroom Door polka dot stamp and some die-cut Circle Loops from Simon Says Stamp.  The sentiment is spelled out with Hero Arts Alphabet stamps and I threw on some Doodlebug Sprinkle dots to represent bubbles.

On this card, I used Simon's One With Nature stamp set to create the trees and made the scallop at the top with Simon's Tiny Alphabet stamp and Stencil Girl's Scalloped Edges stencil.  The lemon is from Bo Bunny's Calendar Girl paper and the card base itself is a Project Life card from the Odds and Ends set.

Here are the supplies I used on these cards that you can find at Simon Says Stamp:
